The Design Process
As an artist foremost, I love to produce high quality, unique wedding stationery that has a fine art touch to it. Each semi custom wedding invitation design has been inspired by one of my original drypoint prints, making them truly unique pieces of art in it’s own right, perfect for your wedding celebrations. I work from my beautiful home studio in West Yorkshire.
To produce the delicate drypoint prints each one is etched using a series of mark making techniques with a sharp etching tool. Once I have finished etching onto the printing plate it is inked up, ready to be printed onto a thick Somerset paper. This is done by rolling it through my traditional printing press in order to lift the ink from the drypoint plate onto the paper. Watch the video to see this in action!
Once the print has dried, I am able to transfer it into a digital format, allowing me to play around with the imagery on adobe software, in order to produce my beautiful wedding invitation designs. These designs are then printed onto thick luxurious card and paper stocks, providing you with delicate wedding paper that will excite your guests for your wedding date.
For bespoke wedding invitation designs I use the same process, however I will produce an original drypoint print based on your theme, ideas and colours in order to produce your part or all of your wedding invitation design.
For bespoke wedding invitations please get in touch. I also work with watercolours to produce some of my bespoke designs for clients, this can often entail mixing the two art processes to create some stunning suites.
